Sim card pin is used to prevent unauthorized access of card. This sim pin is 4 digit number and required to enable a sim card when you insert sim in your phone.
Where can I get a sim card pin? Sim card pin will be available with the sim card’s holder when you buy a sim card. Pin number is printed on a big card (card holder) and you can see the pin by scratching the card pin section.
How to disable the sim card pin in Xiaomi phones?
You can enable or disable the sim card pin from “Settings / Passwords & security / Privacy / Sim network name / Lock SIM card”. To enable or disable the “Lock SIM card” setting, you need to enter the current SIM pin.
Note: when the “Lock SIM card” setting is enabled, then the SIM pin is required to use the phone.
How to change the sim card pin in Xiaomi phones?
Default PIN come with a sim card is hard to remember in some cases. So, in such cases, you can change the sim card pin in Xiaomi phones by following the guide below.
Important note before change sim card pin:
To change the sim card pin, you need a current sim pin. And, if you entered the wrong pin 3 times in a row, then the sim card will be locked and needs a sim PUK number to unlock it.
This PUK number will be available next to the printed sim PIN number in big card (sim card holder).
To change SIM card pin in Xiaomi phones, open pin change option from “Settings / Passwords & security / Privacy / Sim network name / Change SIM PIN”. Next, enter the current PIN number, after that enter the new PIN number and tap “OK”.
Note: Xiaomi phones give the “Change SIM PIN” option to change your sim card pin. And, this option may display once the “Lock SIM card” setting option is enabled.
